Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording apparatus which allows selection between printing speed and image quality (visibility of stripe-like unevenness reduced by correction).SOLUTION: In an image recording device, when a Jth nozzle (H2 [3]) of an image recording head (H2) of a plurality of image recording heads (H1, H2) is discharging defectively, the dot size of the image recording droplets discharged from a Jth discharge nozzle (H1 [3]) of an image recording head (H1) other than the image recording head (H2) is changed in a high-speed image recording mode to a size that is among the dot sizes used in a normal image recording mode and that is larger than the dot size of the image recording droplets that would normally be discharged from the discharge nozzle (H2 [3]). In a low-speed image recording mode, the dot size of the image recording droplets discharged from the discharge nozzle (H1 [3]) is changed to a size that is larger than the largest dot size among the dot sizes used during normal image recording.
