To provide an image recording device equipped with a mechanism which synchronizes the nipping and nipping release of two conveying roller couples provided before and behind an exposure position and does not impede scanning exposure.

Slide members 212A and 212B which support upper rollers 82B and 84B constituting the nip roller couples 82 and 84 are guided by guide rollers 210A to 210D by the rotation of an eccentric cam 206 to move up and down together with a plate 208 which moves up and down. Consequently, the upper rollers 82B and 84B which are energized always downward by a spring 214 move up and down to carry out the nipping and nipping release. Therefore, the nip roller couples 82 and 84 can perform the nipping and nipping release synchronously with each other and never impede the scanning exposure of a photosensitive material.
