To provide an image recording material that is excellent in sharpness of an image, prevents curling due to a roll state and has preferable resistance against adhesion between a front face and a rear face.
The image recording material comprises a support including a paper sheet and polymer coating layers on both surfaces of the paper and at least an image recording layer on the support, wherein the image recording material exhibits an MD compressive strength of 3.5 to 5.5 N/m according to ISO 9895. In preferred embodiments, the recording layer shows a PPS (Parker Print-Surf) roughness of 3 to 6 μm according to ISO 8791-4, the polymer coating layer in an opposite face to the face where the image recording layer is formed is subjected to a roughening process and the roughened surface shows a PPS roughness of 2 μm or more, or the surface of the paper sheet where the image recording layer is formed shows a PPS roughness of 3 μm or less.
