To provide an image recording method and an image recording apparatus by which an image being excellent in image quality (image density and chromal degree), having a high glossiness, and in addition, being excellent in smear fixing property as well can be recorded, and to provide an image recorded article.

This image recording method includes an image recording process and a coating layer forming process. In the image recording process, an image is recorded on a recording medium by using a recording ink. In this case, for the recording medium, the transfer amount of pure water in a contact period of time 100 ms being measured by a dynamic scanning liquid absorbing meter is 2 ml/m2 to 35 ml/m2, and the transfer amount of the pure water in a contact period of time 400 ms is 3 ml/m2 to 40 ml/m2. In the covering layer forming process, a covering layer is formed on the surface of the recorded image by imparting a composition for the covering layer in such a manner that the dry deposit amount may become 1 g/m2 to 10 g/m2.
