To provide an image recording system wherein latent image characteristics which a silver salt photosensitive material has are canceled to realize a hard copy of high quality having stable color development and an influence upon productivity of image recording can be minimized.
The image recording system comprises a host device having an image processing function and an image recorder comprising an exposure device for exposing an image consisting of many pixels on a silver salt photosensitive material on the basis of dot image data by a light source having a prescribed wavelength and a developing device for development processing of the silver salt photosensitive material. The host device includes a mesh% determination means and a mesh% determination information reporting means for reporting information of a determination result to the image recorder, and the exposure device includes an exposure part and an ejected paper transporting means for transporting the exposed silver salt photosensitive material to the developing device, and the time required to stabilize a latent image formed on the exposed silver salt photosensitive material is controlled before development processing on the basis of the mesh% determination result reported from the host device.
