To provide an adaptor for image rotation, which can impart a special effect to an image photographed by a camera by using an existing camera and a shooting lens.

The adaptor 16 for image rotation to be mounted between a shooting lens 14 and a television camera 12 includes: a first prism 42 that reflects an object light beam five times to inverse the image; a second prism 44 that reflects five times the object light beam exiting from the first prism 42 to return into an original state; and a relay optical system that re-images the object image once imaged, onto light-receiving faces of image pickup elements 54R, 54G, 54B of the television camera 12 and enlarges the size of an image circle by 1.25 times. The second prism 44 is held on a prism holding frame 60 that is rotatably supported; and the object images formed on the light-receiving faces of the image pickup elements 54R, 54G, 54B are rotated by rotating the second prism 44.
