PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image sampling apparatus including a compact sensor which can be freely arranged.SOLUTION: An image sampling apparatus for sampling an identification image of a coin-shaped medium passing through a conveyance path includes: a conveyance unit for conveying the coin-shaped medium; an image sensor having an imaging element which images the coin-shaped medium; a control unit for controlling imaging interval of the imaging element so as to sample a plurality of medium images when one coin-shaped medium passes; and a selection unit which selects a specific medium image, as the identification image, from among the sampled medium images.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
