To provide an image sensing device capable of achieving a clamp processing having a high accuracy.
An image-sensing surface 16a has 480 horizontal pixel rows arrayed in the vertical direction. Charges generated in the 480 horizontal pixel rows are transferred in the vertical direction by a vertical transfer register 16c. A horizontal transfer register 16d transfers charges transferred to the terminal of the vertical transfer register 16c in the horizontal direction at every one horizontal pixel row. A raw image signal based on charges transferred by the horizontal transfer register 16d is clamped by a clamping circuit. Each of the 480 horizontal pixel rows has 672 pixels in this case. The horizontal transfer register 16d carries out a transfer operation aiming at one horizontal pixel row for a period when 684 pixels can be transferred. The clamping circuit carries out the clamp processing for a preliminary-feeding period resulting from the difference of "672" and "684".
