Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image sensor having an excellent sensing function.
SOLUTION: The image sensor comprises a substrate having upper and lower surfaces where a plurality of signal input ends are formed on the periphery of the upper surface and a plurality of bumps of the same height are formed in the central part thereof, a protruding fringe layer disposed on the periphery of the substrate to form U-shape together with the substrate and to form a groove in which the plurality of signal input ends and the plurality of bumps on the substrate are located, an image sensing chip being placed on the bumps formed on the upper surface of the substrate, a plurality of lead wires for connecting the image sensing chip electrically with the signal input ends on the substrate, and a translucent layer covering the image sensing chip by covering the protruding fringe layer. Since the image sensing chip is placed on the bumps of the substrate, a good flatness is attained and an excellent sensing function is provided.
