Abstract:
To provide an image sensor with improved color crosstalk and small pixels.
An image sensor of this invention comprises: a first conductivity type substrate; first and second pixels arrayed on the first conductivity type substrate; and a potential barrier arranged in the substrate related to the first pixel, while the potential barrier is not arranged in the substrate related to the second pixel. Here, the second pixel corresponds with color that has relatively longer wavelength than color that corresponds with the first pixel. In addition, the potential barrier has dopant formed by high-energy ion implantation, and also has dopant formed by ion implantation or diffusion during epitaxial growth of p-type epitaxial layer.
