Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image stream recording apparatus and method for decoding an imaged stream at a point of time when recording is started.
SOLUTION: A buffer 1 once stores an image stream transmitted and subjected to inter-frame compression. The buffer 1 has a capacity of capable of storing image data of 1 GOP (group of pictures) or more. A GOP detection circuit 3 detects a top picture of the GOP from the image stream fed from the buffer 1. When the GOP detection circuit 3 detects the top picture of the GOP, a recording medium 13 records the image stream after that via a recording circuit 11.
