An image input/output system comprises; an image input means for inputting image data; an image storing means for successively storing image data inputted by the image input means; an image read means for reading out image data stored in the image storing means, a box management means for dividing the image storing means into a plurality of box areas and managing them; a box storing means for storing image data in arbitrary box areas; box read means for designating arbitrary image data from arbitrary box areas to read images; a means for counting the numbers of times of image data read from arbitrary box areas; a means for setting the limit numbers of times of image data read from arbitrary box areas; and a judgment means for judging whether image data can be read out from arbitrary box areas or not.
