Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an image target detecting device capable of stably detecting a target from an image without being influenced by the dispersion of luminance distribution in a screen and the items of the target.
CONSTITUTION: A target position in the output image of a camera is arithmetically operated by a target position arithmetic circuit 46, the luminance of the target in the image is arithmetically operated by a target luminance arithmetic circuit 64, and the image having a high luminance of the target is selected as a target detecting image by an image selecting circuit 65. The luminance of each picture element in a local area with the target position as the center is measured by a local area luminance measuring device 3, and the image is binarized with a threshold determined from the luminance of each picture element by a binarizing circuit 4.
