To enable a manager to easily permit transmission as needed even for a destination to which transmission cannot be performed because of a domain restriction, by preventing erroneous transmission of image data while managing a destination to which image data may be transmitted and a destination to which image data may not be transmitted.
An image transmission apparatus 1 comprises a transmission permitted domain file 84 to register a domain name of an electronic mail address to which transmission can be performed, a restriction section 2a which restricts transmission of image data to an electronic mail address of a transmission destination when a domain name of the electronic mail address inputted as the transmission destination is not registered in the transmission permitted domain file 84, an address data file 83 for registering an address list of electronic mail addresses to which transmission can be performed, and an authentication section 2b which authenticates a manager having a manager authority of the image transmission apparatus 1. The authentication section 2b permits settings of the transmission restrictions by the restriction section 2a and editing of the address list registered in the address data file 83 only to a manager having a manager authority.
