To provide an image transmission device and a wireless image reception device which make a real-time moving image viewable with just a little delay.

The image transmission device is equipped with a self-propelled transmission section for transmitting image data and a self-propelled reception section for receiving image data transmitted from the transmission section. The transmission section is equipped with a marker assignment section for assigning a vertical synchronous marker to image data. The reception section is equipped with a marker extraction section for extracting the vertical synchronous marker assigned by the marker assignment section; a marker position monitoring section for monitoring whether or not the extracted vertical synchronous marker stays wtihin a predetermined range in the received data; and a non-display period adjustment section which, when it is determined by the marker position monitoring section that the position of the marker is not within the predetermined range, adjusts a non-display period of the image data so that the position of the marker may stay within the predetermined range.
