Abstract:

To attain appropriate photographing without having to provide a plurality of photometry means, which measure the luminance of a subject, even when photographing using a strobe in a finder mode in which the subject is displayed on an image display section.

When an EVF mode for observing a subject by using the image display section (YES/step S300), and photographing is carried out using a strobe (YES/step S303), preliminary light emission is performed from the strobe (step S309 or S313), in response to the detection of a main mirror at a predetermined position (YES/step S304). Based on the photometry result by a photometry sensor during the preliminary light emission, main light emission at photographing is performed from the strobe (step S321).
