Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of effectively supporting panning even in the case where a difference of a moving speed between the imaging apparatus and a subject exceeds a range within which the difference is correctable by correcting an optical system.SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes an imaging mode for imaging a moving subject while moving the imaging apparatus. The imaging apparatus includes: detection means for detecting a speed difference between the imaging apparatus and the subject under the imaging mode; setting means by which, in the case where it is determined that the detected speed difference exceeds a range within which the speed difference is correctable by correcting the optical system of the imaging apparatus, an imaging condition is set for performing imaging multiple times within the correctable range; and synthesizing means which generates a synthetic image using a plurality of images obtained by performing imaging multiple times in accordance with the imaging condition.
