Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus and a control method thereof capable of executing stable black balance adjustment.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus includes an attenuation member that reduces an amount of light incident on an imaging element, calculation means that calculates a correction value for adjusting black balance of an image signal output from the imaging element on the basis of the value of the image signal output from the imaging element and a predetermined black reference value, and control means capable of controlling the attenuation amount of the incident light amount by the attenuation member. The control means performs control such that calculation of the correction value by the calculation means is performed in a state in which the attenuation amount of the incident light amount by the attenuation member is larger than an attenuation amount at the time of determining a predetermined threshold value on condition that a luminance value obtained from the imaging element is equal to or smaller than the threshold value in a state in which the attenuation amount of the incident light amount by the attenuation member is smaller than the maximum amount.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
