PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism that, when performing a preparation operation to return from paper jam, switches between modes of the preparation operation according to the details of already submitted jobs.SOLUTION: The present image forming apparatus determines a mode of a preparation operation for executing image formation on the basis of job information indicating the details of jobs that are not executed among received jobs. The present image forming apparatus executes, according to the determined mode, a preparation operation of a first mode corresponding only to a single color of a developer used for image formation or a preparation operation of a second mode corresponding to every color of the developer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
