This imaging apparatus has the imaging means 10 for picking up an image over a wide range of an angle of view to obtain a photographed image, an object direction indication means 20 for indicating the direction of the object, a control information acquiring means 30 for acquiring plural control information for each direction, a control information retaining means 50 for allowing the direction to correspond to the plural control information acquired by the control information acquiring means 30 for retaining, and a control information selection means 40 for selecting the plural control information, corresponding to the direction that is indicated by the object direction indication means 20 from the control information retaining means 50. When the direction is indicated by the object direction indicating means 20, the control information corresponding to the indicated direction is selected from information that has been retained already by the control information retaining means 50, and the imaging means 10 is controlled, based on the selected control information.
