The imaging apparatus comprises an optical system which focuses light from a subject, a light receiving part comprising a plurality of light receiving elements for receiving the light from the subject that has been focused by the optical system, a correction part which corrects a plurality of pixel values that are linear to the volume of light received by a plurality of respective light receiving elements in accordance with an optical transmission function of the optical system, and a non-linear processing part which converts a plurality of pixel values having been corrected by the correction part into pixel values that are non-linear to the volume of light received by a plurality of respective light receiving elements.
