An imaging control portion 32 controls imaging of a sweep image obtained by moving a focus position during exposure within a different focus range. A synthetic sweep image generating portion 36 generates the synthetic sweep image by synthesizing the sweep images having subject information showing a prescribed subject in the sweep images imaged by control of the imaging control portion 32. A blur removing processing portion 35 removes blur from the synthetic sweep image based on a point spread function corresponding to the focus range of the synthesized sweep image. This invention can be applied to a digital still camera.
