A CPU 28 determines a setting ISO sensitivity to be set at an imaging device 13 on the basis of subject brightness. An analog gain adjustment part 29 performs analog gain adjustment for an analog image signal acquired from the imaging device 13 on the basis of the setting ISO sensitivity. An A/D converter 30 converts the image signal to which analog gain adjustment is performed into a digital signal. A digital gain adjustment part 31 performs digital gain adjustment for the digitally converted image signal to correct an exposure level of the image. The CPU 28 controls the analog gain adjustment part 29 so as to change a timing to change the ISO sensitivity on the basis of a direction of change in the subject brightness.
