To provide an imaging apparatus that is easy to decide the imaging magnification just as a photographer intended.
An imaging apparatus 100 has: an imaging part 10 that images a subject to acquire first image information; a first detector 41 that detects photographing magnification information based on at least one of second image information representing a photographer and sensor information from a motion sensor; a second detector 44 that detects motion information representing the motion of the imaging apparatus 100; a determining part 46 in which a plurality of thresholds (t1-t2, and T1-T3) corresponding to a plurality of zones (z1-z2, and Z1-Z3) divided for each of the magnitudes of the motion information are set, and that compares one of the thresholds, which is set to one of the zones to which the motion information belongs, with the magnitude of the motion information, and carries out determination; and a deciding part 48 that decides an imaging magnification based on the photographing magnification information when the magnitude of the motion information exceeds the one of the thresholds.
