An imaging apparatus includes: an imaging part for imaging an image by an optical system; an extraction part 36 for extracting a part of a first image imaged by the imaging part as a reference image; a first detection part 37 for detecting a first similar image having a feature similar to the feature of the reference image from the first image; a relative position calculation part 38 for calculating a relative position between the first similar image and the reference image; a second detection part 39 for detecting a second similar image having a feature similar to the feature of the reference image from a second image imaged by the imaging part after the first image; and a position detection part 40 for detecting the position of the image corresponding to the relative position from the second similar image.
