To provide an imaging apparatus etc. which when taking an image of a subject in composition including a specific area of the subject, enables automatic determination of imaging magnification and easy taking of the image in satisfactory composition.
The imaging apparatus comprises: a magnification control unit for controlling zoom magnification; an image acquisition unit 125 for acquiring a taken image from an imaging unit 115; and a positional relation acquisition unit 162 for acquiring the relative positional relation information between both the reference position of the first image area of the subject and the reference position of the second image area of the subject and the measurement reference position of the taken image, in the taken image acquired by the image acquisition part 125. The magnification control unit controls the zoom magnification according to the positional relation information acquired by the positional relation acquisition unit 162.
