To calculate a correction value of a shutter speed at the time of taking a photograph regardless of temperature or adjustment amount in factory adjustments.
An imaging apparatus capable of correcting a shutter speed of a shutter unit 110 includes a thermometer 134 for measuring the temperature around the shutter unit and a nonvolatile memory 130 for storing temperature characteristic data so as to correct the shutter speed according to each temperature and a measured temperature value in factory adjustments which was measured by a thermometer when an adjustment value for adjusting an individual difference of the shutter unit was measured. From the temperature characteristic data, a correction value in factory adjustments corresponding to the measured temperature value in factory adjustments and an correction value at the time of taking a photograph corresponding to a temperature value measured by the thermometer at the time of taking a photograph are acquired and a correction value to correct the shutter speed is obtained by subtracting the correction value in factory adjustments from the correction value at the time of taking a photograph.
