To provide an imaging apparatus capable of avoiding a situation that a plurality of images are consecutively photographed even when a user cannot know the timing of photographing in consecutive photography.
An imaging apparatus comprises: a sound output section outputting a prescribed sound according to an imaging operation; and a control section controlling output/non-output of the prescribed sound from the sound output section on the basis of a setting of sound output and further controlling a consecutive photographing operation. The setting of sound output includes: an ON setting which outputs the prescribed sound from the sound output section according to start of the imaging operation; and an OFF setting which does not output the prescribed sound from the sound output section according to the start of the imaging operation. When receiving an instruction for starting the consecutive photographing operation in the state that the setting of sound output is OFF and an imaging interval during the consecutive photographing operation is set to be variable, the control section makes control so as to prevent the consecutive photographing operation with the variable imaging interval in the state that the prescribed sound is not output according to the imaging operation.
