To solve such a problem that when strobe light is used as autofocus auxiliary light, it happens that a part or all of range-finding points are out of an irradiation range of the autofocus auxiliary light, when a strobe is bounced and when range-finding is performed without noticing that a part or all of the range-finding points are out of the irradiation range, the fact causes a shortage of range-finding accuracy or the impossibility of range-finding caused by a shortage of subject luminance.
It is determined whether each of a plurality of range-finding points is within or out of the irradiation range of auxiliary light by using a bounce state of an autofocus auxiliary light emitting part and information on a focal distance. The range-finding point being in an area which can be illuminated by an illumination device is discriminably displayed based on the determination result.
