To provide a system which achieves the downsizing of an imaging apparatus and protects a motor operating a shutter unit from an impact caused by falling etc. of the imaging apparatus even when the motor is disposed near an outer sheath of a corner of an apparatus body.
In an imaging apparatus, a motor 203 operating a shutter unit 20 is disposed near an outer sheath of a corner of an apparatus body. The shutter unit 20 is fastened to the rear surface side of a front base 10, and an opening 101, in which the motor 203 is housed, is formed at the front base 10. A protection wall 102 covering an outer periphery of the motor 203 is provided at a periphery of the opening 101. The protection wall 102 is formed so that a wall part 102b positioned at the corner of the apparatus body becomes thinner than the other wall parts 102a and a gap size h between the wall part 102b and the motor 203 becomes larger than a gap size g between the other wall part 102a and the motor 203.
