PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of shortening the time until an imaging operation is started again after photographing.SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus comprises: an imaging element photoelectrically converting an object image, to generate an image signal; a focal plane shutter including a shutter base plate including an opening, a blade group opening and closing the opening, to adjust exposure to the imaging element, a blade driving member driving the blade group, a driving spring energizing the blade driving member, and a charge member charging the driving spring; and a control part controlling the reset scan of the electric charge of the imaging element. The blade driving member is interlocked with the charge operation of the driving spring, so that the blade group opens the opening. The imaging apparatus further includes voltage detection means for detecting the power supply voltage of the imaging apparatus. The control part starts the reset scan of the electric charge of the imaging element, based on the power supply voltage detected by the voltage detection means, while the blade group opens the opening and completes the reset scan of the electric charge of the imaging element, after the blade group completes the opening of the opening.
