Abstract:
To provide an imaging apparatus with which it is possible to improve the accuracy of focus control.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus 400 comprises an imaging element 411, an image data reduction unit 422, a video signal processing unit 472 and 473, an automatic setting unit 451, a setting area readout unit 454, an image data cutout unit 471 and an autofocus control unit 460. The setting area readout unit 454 generates a focus area corresponding signal YS407 on the basis of a focus area FA401 that is set by the automatic setting unit 451. The image data cutout unit 471 generates focus area data RD406 on the basis of the focus area corresponding signal YS407. The video signal processing unit 473 generates a setting area signal YS408 in which a high frequency component is extracted from the focus area data RD406. The autofocus control unit 460 executes autofocus control on the basis of the setting area signal YS408.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
