Abstract:
To provide an imaging apparatus that can obtain a desired image while maintaining focus detection accuracy in rapid-fire shooting in a live view.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises: an imaging element that has imaging pixels and phase difference approach focus detection pixels that receive a light flux passing through pupil areas having different imaging optical systems; and rapid-fire shooting means that performs rapid-fire shooting when an imaging instruction by release means is continued, that generates an image signal from the imaging pixels after each exposure, and that sequentially generates signals from focus detection pixels, and compares an aperture value in last exposure with a predetermined aperture value at time of an imaging operation start of each piece, moves to a first rapid-fire shooting mode, in which focus detection by focus detection means is performed in each exposure interval, to image when an aperture value in a last exposure is larger than a predetermined aperture value, and moves to a second rapid-fire shooting mode, in which the focus detection by means of the last exposure is performed, to image when the aperture value in the last exposure is smaller than the predetermined aperture value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1(b)
