Abstract:
To provide an imaging apparatus capable of preventing burning in an image pick-up device when a high luminance subject enters an angle of view.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus (100) comprises: an image pick-up device (104) photoelectrically converting a subject image to generate an image signal; mechanical shutter means (3) arranged in front of the image pick-up device (104), and switching the image pick-up device (104) from an open state to a light blocked state by causing a blade group to run; and a detector (101) capable of detecting a charge amount stored in the image pick-up device (104). When the detector (101) detects that a charge amount stored while the image pick-up device (104) is exposed exceeds a given threshold, the mechanical shutter means (3) runs to switch the image pick-up device (104) from the open state to the light blocked state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
