Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image capturing device and blade driver, which offer good exposure accuracy even during a continuous operation.SOLUTION: An image capturing device has: a blade driver comprising front and rear curtains movable between close positions for closing an aperture and open positions for opening the aperture, and front and rear curtain actuators for respectively driving the front and rear curtains; and a drive controller configured to drive the front and rear curtain actuators. The front curtain moves from the close position to the open position to start an exposure operation, while the rear curtain moves from the open position to the close position to terminate the exposure operation. During continuous operation, the time it takes, from completion of the exposure operation, to start a recovery operation for returning the front or rear curtain to a starting position for the exposure operation is shorter than the time it takes to start the exposure operation from completion of the recovery operation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
