Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focus adjustment device achieving stable focus adjustment operation with respect to a main subject intended by a photographer.SOLUTION: When a subject such as a face is detected from a video signal by a face detection processing circuit 113, driving of a focus lens 105 is increased further than reference driving, and a minute change in a focus signal is read, thereby improving ability for specifying a focusing position. Thus, even when the subject is a low contrast subject such as the face, responsiveness in focus adjustment operation is improved, and stable focus adjustment operation is achieved without requiring much time by the time when the focusing position is detected.
