Abstract:
To provide an imaging apparatus which can detect a photographer's intention to photograph, without an operation by the photographer, thereby reducing power consumed by the imaging apparatus, without compromising the use experience of the photographer.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus (100) comprises: first detection means (106, 105) for detecting the holding of the imaging apparatus by a photographer; second detection means (103, 105) for detecting the photographer in a detection range provided on the back surface side of the imaging apparatus; and control means (105) which, on the basis of the result of detection by the first detection means and the result of detection by the second detection means, changes an operation mode of the imaging apparatus.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
