To provide an imaging device capable of improving image quality by separating an image inputted to a sensor into a recording image signal and an evaluating image signal, and applying correction of a defective pixel detected in the evaluating image signal improved in accuracy for detecting damage to the recording image signal.
An imaging device comprises: imaging means for imaging a subject; defective pixel detecting means for detecting a defective pixel from an image signal outputted from the imaging means; defective pixel correcting means for correcting the defective pixel detected by the defective pixel detecting means, using adjacent pixels; image signal processing means capable of separately processing the image signal as a recording image signal and an evaluating image signal; at least one or more gain control means capable of applying a gain to the image signal. The defective pixel correcting means corrects the recording image signal, using detected position information of the defective pixel detected by the defective pixel detecting means, from the evaluating image signal increased in gain from the recording image signal.
