Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform correct and precise automatic focusing control matching various imaging conditions with a simple configuration in which an imaging element for taking images of objects in the field is also used for focusing control.SOLUTION: A focusing device is provided in an imaging system which focuses a field image in a light receiving part of an image device 3 via an imaging optical system 1 to acquire image data of an object field. A plurality of micro lenses arranged in a line across an imaging screen on the light receiving part of the image device 3 cover the light receiving part over a plurality of pixels, and a micro lens array 4 for guiding the light according to the exit pupil location of the imaging optical system 1 is provided for these pixels. The pixel data, which respectively corresponds to the exit pupil locations for the plurality of micro lenses from the plurality of pixels respectively corresponding to the micro lenses, is extracted, and a plurality of one-dimensional images corresponding to the exit pupil locations are rebuilt. These one-dimensional images are then compared, and the focusing information of the object is acquired. A field image is generated using pixel data obtained from pixels other than those covered with the micro lenses on the image device 3.
