To image and record an image of an object without missing a shutter chance or causing a time lag.
Turning on or off of an interruption process flag is determined (S201). When a shutter button is half-depressed, the interruption process flag is turned on. Therefore, it is determined whether a signal indicating the shutter button has been fully depressed is transmitted or not (S202). If the shutter button is fully depressed all at once, the determination in S202 is made "YES". Consequently, a CCD outputs imaging data for exposure (S203). The imaging data for this exposure are separated into a luminance signal and a color difference signal by a color processor (S204). A CPU writes the separated luminance signal and color difference signal into a RAM (S205). Accordingly, image data captured before the completion of a focusing operation and at the moment of the full depression of the shutter button are stored in the RAM.
