To provide an imaging device which is of a less costly configuration and can set a plurality of conveyance speeds to a peripheral device having a function to convey a recording medium, and can form an image rapidly, a control method and a program for the imaging device.
A main body control part 17 controls an operation to convey the recording medium in optional paper feeder devices 20, 30, 40 and 50 through communication with OP control parts 27, 37, 47 and 57, and sets in advance a plurality of conveyance speeds, to each of which a different speed ID number (an identification code) is allotted, to the OP control parts 27, 37, 47 and 57. Further, when an image is actually formed, the conveyance speed is designated to the OP control parts 27, 37, 47 and 57 by the speed ID number.
