Abstract:
To track a main object with high accuracy.SOLUTION: An image capturing apparatus having a capturing unit configured to capture an image at a predetermined frame rate, includes: a detection unit configured to detect an object that is a candidate of a main object from an image of a current frame obtained by the capturing unit; and a main object determination unit configured to perform processing for determining whether or not the detected object is the same as the main object, and to determine an object that is determined as being the same as the main object, as a main object in the current frame. The main object determination unit includes: a first determination unit configured to determine whether or not coordinates of the object candidate and coordinates of the main object in a two-dimensional space of an image in the current frame detected by the detection unit satisfy a distance condition that is based on respective types of the objects; a second determination unit configured to determine whether or not a difference in a distance from the image capturing apparatus between the object candidate and the main object in the current frame detected by the detection unit is within a predetermined range; and a third determination unit configured to determine whether or not the first determination unit and the second determination unit respectively satisfy conditions a predetermined number of times in a row.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
