Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of properly switching whether to perform a control giving high priority to suppression of a flicker in accordance with the scene or a control giving high priority to reduction in time lag in imaging.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises: imaging means; determination means for determining an imaging condition on the basis of a subject luminance in response to an indication of an imaging preparation operation; detection means for detecting a flicker on the basis of an image captured by the imaging means; and control means for switching a disclosure control in a period from an imaging preparing state to main imaging to a first control giving high priority to the suppression of a flicker or a second control giving high priority to reduction in time lag in imaging, in accordance with the detection result of a flicker by the detection means.
