Abstract:
To allow effective detection of flicker, while preventing a reduction in the quality of a live view.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus has: detection means that executes a flicker detection operation based on an image output from an image pick-up device; first operation means; second operation means; and control means that controls the drive of the image pick-up device based on information on detected flicker. The detection means executes first detection for performing the flicker detection operation in response to an imaging preparation instruction or an imaging instruction according to an operation of the first operation means performed by a user. The detection means executes second detection for performing the flicker detection operation in response to an operation of the second operation means performed by the user during display of a live view. When flicker is detected in the second detection, the control means controls the drive of the image pick-up device such that a storage time for displaying the live view becomes a storage time to reduce the influence of the flicker.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
