PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera which enables higher speed consecutive photographing.SOLUTION: A camera comprises: defocus amount detection means 8 and 9 for detecting a defocus amount of an imaging lens mounted on the camera; and control means 9 for acquiring estimated time for aperture-narrowing, which comprises defocus amount detectable time and defocus amount undetectable time, from estimating means 5 and 6 for aperture-driving time mounted on the imaging lens, and makes an aperture-narrowing operation and a defocus detecting operation be executed in parallel during the defocus amount detectable time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
