Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device that can capture a subject regardless of the motion velocity of the subject and the like even at a time of low luminance, and to provide an imaging method that uses the imaging device.SOLUTION: An imaging device includes: an AF evaluation value calculation circuit that extracts a prescribed signal component from an imaging signal to create an AF evaluation value; and a camera side CPU 107 that makes focus adjustments on the basis of the AF evaluation value. The camera side CPU 107 is configured to determine whether a subject or the imaging device moves, and when determining that the subject or the imaging device moves, the camera side CPU 107 is configured to change a frame rate of an image pick-up element 105 to a second frame rate greater than a first frame rate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
