Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a polarized image and a high-resolution non-polarized image.SOLUTION: In an imaging unit 13, a plurality of pixels for generating a pixel signal on the basis of incident light are made polarized pixels whose direction of polarization is one of a plurality of polarization directions. A polarization direction rotation unit 11 is provided on the incident side of the imaging unit 13 and rotates the polarization direction of incident light of the imaging unit 13. A control unit controls the polarization direction rotation unit 11 and the imaging unit 13 and rotates the polarization direction of incident light n times (n = natural number) of 180 degrees at a constant speed during an exposure period of the imaging unit 13, thereby generating a non-polarized image, or captures images at a plurality of rotation positions in the polarization directions, thereby generating non-polarized images using the obtained images. It also stops rotation of the polarization direction by the polarization direction rotation unit 11 and captures an image with the imaging unit 13, thereby generating a polarized image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
