To easily take stereoscopic photographs and also freely set conditions for stereoscopic photographing by moving two or more imaging devices such as regular digital cameras.

In a stereoscopic imaging system, two regular cameras are moved linking with each other by providing them with communication I/F circuits and connecting them together with a communication cable. Identification numbers are set for the cameras. The function of a master is imparted to one of the cameras and the function of a slave to the other. After photographing, all photographic image data with the identification number are transferred to and stored in the memory of the master.
