To provide an imaging device which can read data from a radio tag of a recording medium certainly and highly precisely and can use the recording medium with a large imaging area.
In this imaging device, a reversible thermal recording medium 2 supplied from a recording medium supply means 3 once stops in a position wherein the tip of the medium 2 is held by a nip part between paired registration rollers 12, and in this stop position, the radio tag pasted to the reversible thermal recording medium 2 is nearly opposed to an antenna of a tag data reading means 41 arranged on the upstream side of the paired registration rollers 12. Thus the data contents of the radio tag are read. Further, the previously printed characters of the reversible thermal recording medium 2 which is through with an accessing action, are erased by an erase means 15 and characters are printed anew on the medium 2 using an imaging means 18 with a thermal head 30 based on the read information. Finally, the thermal recording medium 2 is discharged onto a paper discharge tray 44 on the top of the device.
