The imaging device (1) includes an optical finder (24); an imaging means (7); a display means (8); a photometric means (32); a storage means (33) to continuously store photometric values of an object image on zone basis; a shielding object detection means (25); a photometric value updating means (15) to delete a photometric value for one zone stored in the storage means, after the passage of a certain period, while access of the shielding object is detected by the shielding object detection means; and a photometric value control means (15) to retain a storage content in the storage means, when the access of the shielding object is not detected by the shielding object detection means, and determine exposure of the object image immediately after the live view start, based on the photometric value stored in the previous zone of the time the access of the shielding object is not detected by the shielding object detection means, when the finder view is changed over to the live view.
